Recently, academical interests on citizen participation for urban planning have been risen in Korea. Especially, Japan plays an important role as a good precedent of collaborative planning and citizen participation in field of Machizukuri studies. In fact, since before the Meiji, Chounaikai and Zichikai have been a critical part as local neighborhood associations in Japan. But, the community sense has weakened due to the rapid urbanization. Nowadays, cities in Japan have been faced with the crisis of community dissolving. In this situation, this study examined the supporting system for local neighborhood associations in Kyoto has long history of Chounaikai and Zichikai under the purpose of constructing and delivering information for future studies. |
